Dear World. Fuck Off

Music: Cheap like Sebastien (Apostle of Hustle) (on repeat to try and keep myself from smashing things)

So, I just had a great weekend. Nice weather that was used to have a barbeque on the beach wich a bunch of friends, some of whom I haven't seen for a while on Saturday. And then today included pancakes, hanging out with friends, then going to see a weird-assed Akira Kurosawa movie with my mom and then going out for beer and really good pizza afterwards.

Everything was awesome.

Except that while watching the movie, some little bitch of a cancerous tumor on the world, came and clipped my bike lock with some bolt cutters and ran off with my bike which has had a lot of time and about $160 worth of parts and repairs put into it in the last few weeks. And there I was left. Standing on the curb without a bike but with a cut bike lock, almost wishing that I would find whoever took in standing around, if only so that I could beat them to death with the broken remnants of the lock.

Probably best for us all that they were not around. I would likely regret that.

....

I have been noticing lately that I might have some anger issues.

This is why I can't have nice things

Music: Mogwai. Really loud Mogwai

Well, damn.

Evidently, Arthur loses at life. This sucks.

Just got rejected for going to U of T next year, and now I have absolutely no idea what I am going to be doing . Well, aside from going and yelling (politely of course) at the registrar on monday. Seriously, I would alwasy tell people I didn't know if I would get in, to try and not get cocky and screw it up for myself, but I was always pretty confident that I would.

Shows what the hell I know.

Uuuuuuugh

Music: Natureboy (they're really good - especially Heart to Fool)

This is so much suck. Unbelievable quantities of suck. Woke up this morning with like stomach flu or food poisoning or some crap like that. Spent my first two or three hours up alternating between lying on the couch and hovering over the toilet bowl.

If it's food poisoning, what the hell have I eaten recently that could have given me that?

If it's flu (which I kinda doubt since I thought flu season was over by now mostly), then gahh! Stupid flu. Although, come to think of it, I did have a really long, involved and weird dream all last night that I kept thinking I was waking out of, only to still be in it over and over.

Woah, maybe I was having crazy fever dreams?....

Non-Resolute

Music: the silence of the morning (maybe I should put something on)

So, I never do new year's resolutions. Well, that's not entirely tre, I probably was told to make them on some years in the past when I was a kid - they seem to feel that this is another one of the yearly traditions that you should make kids take part in in elementary school. Making resolutions to improve yourself at this one specific part of the year that you don't really plan to keep, just cause all the other people are seems weird. But I don't currently, and haven't for years and never did when it was not up to me.

Except...

Second week of January, I joined a gym and have made myself rules about the minimum frrequency I am allowed to go to it - even have a gym pact with my friend Holly where if one of us misses a week, they owe the other lunch.

And last week of December, I started trying to teach myself to play the piano. All throughout my childhood we had to learn one instrument or another and I often resented my parents for it. Since then I have on occasion decided "I am going to learn to play X", and would get hold of it, play for a couple of months or so and then stop. Except this time I seem more focused on it.

But these are not new year's resolutions. Sure, They are things that I resolved to do. And they do all fall into similar groups to a lot of resolutions. And they both happened within two weeks of new years. But that was all totally coincidental. The gym membership was a gift for christmas, and piano playing motivation came from seeing my family a lot over the holidays. And since many of them play music and bust the instruments out at any large gathering, it was making me wish that I played an instrument again.

So, aside from being at the same time as new years resolutions and having the same sort of content as new years resolutions, this was all just a fluke and most assuredly not a new years resolution.

Definitely not.

It was a fluke.

I swear...

Allons-y

Music: me bashing away at a piano hoping some semblance of music comes out. (it's nice to dream. one of these days it'll sound better)

Hello citizens of Blogonia.

Meant to do this a bit ago, but I am doing it now. Finally getting around to starting to write stuff up here again. I took a break of a while, then started a tumblr account instead, then discovered I don't really like tumblr and it has taken me this much time to get back to writing here.

Although, to be fair, I do have a fair bit of shit going on at the moment.

Currently that involves the Plan(tm) to quit my job in the fall (or at least cut back hours to just a shift or two a week), and then go back to school full-time starting then. The Plan(tm) says U of T for physics or physics/comp-sci.

So says the Plan(tm).

Of course the Plan(tm) is still waiting on U of T telling me whether or not they are going to let me in or not. Here's hoping for yes. But if I do get a no, I feel that I should then still quit my job and do something nice and big to shake up my life. Cause I am very notorious for falling into ruts, and I think I feel one growing here.

I need a change...

Owwwwwwwwww

Music: angry muttering... grumble grumble grumble...

Today was suck. Among other things and the day just generically bugging me, I had about 2 or 3 gallons of white paint fall off of a cart I was loading into the elevator and crack open - then proceeded to flood the elevator with paint. I then had to scoop it all into buckets and the then mop it up once the amount was less, all while the elevator was constantly trying to close it's door and go up.

And further, while dealing with all this my shoulder dislocated itself again and I had to pop it back in, take a quick rest and then go finish. By the time we got it mostly cleaned up I was this close to punching someone in the throat.

Well, probably not actually, but I did need to blast some music on my headphones for quite some time to calm myself down.

..robble robble robble....

Thor is angry with you Toronto... fear him

Music: Stars (calender girl is such an awesome song)

Woo, okay, back to hopefully updating more often.

So, I know that like almost everyone has been complaining about the abundance of big assed rain storms all summer and about how the way hot temperatures haven't started yet, but honestly...

Suck it!

This rocks.

Okay, since I do ride my bike most places, the overabundance of rain can be an issue (although, honestly riding in the rain is fun as long as you can dry off and change clothes after), but this is sweet. I am very much a fall/winter person, and as such I really don't deal well with heat - even the weather this summer has been way too much - so I am so glad that it has yet to pass 30 degrees. So hey, good for it.

And as far as the storms go.. there is basically no weather better than a nice huge thundertorm. They are awesome, fun and incredibly beautiful. There's just something so cool and above all impresive about them. Once again, as long as I can dry off and change after, I love being out in them.

So for all of those anti-storm people, sit down, shut up and just enjoy it.

... on further thought, this all may be the reason behind why I have been nearly hit by lightning 3 times in my life but hey, totally worth all of it. And still have not been actually zapped, so Thor...

You've got crap aim, boy.

(please don't smite me..)
